Craig Johnson
How did you get into the equine industry?
I grew up in horses. My parents have always been heavily involved in breeding and training quarter horses.
Why you have chosen reining?
To me, it was a common denominator to the advancement of all disciplines. Reining is much more than a sport. It’s a training method that causes each horse to become more connected to the rider and a proven way to advance each horse’s abilities to become better at whatever their gifts are.

Goals with you and your horses?
To continue going to new levels of willingly guided, no resistance, to achieve excellence.
What qualities do you value in a horse?
Attitude, Attitude, Attitude!
Favorite Show to Attend
The AQHA World Show. There are so many great horses and trainers in every discipline.
If you had to choose another discipline, what would you chose and why?
I am fascinated with discovering how to create amazing competitive ranch horses.
Your go-to ABI Tool?
I use my new TR3 “E” Equine Edition for so many purposes around the ranch. It maintains an excellent surface in my arena and the roads, driveways, and even the pastures. It would take so many pieces of equipment to replace what this one drag can do.
